Our Pastor

Rev Dr. Ogechukwu Kalu Ibem hails from Asaga Ohafia, Abia State of Nigeria. Dr. Ogechukwu Ibem is one of seven children of the late Lazarus Kalu Ibem and Mrs. Lucy Kalu. He was educated in University of Calabar with a Bachelor of Arts in English & Literature; Postgraduate Diploma in Theology at The Presbyterian Theological College University of Uyo, Nigeria; Master of Divinity at Theological College of Northern Nigeria, University of Jos; PhD Intercultural Education at Biola University, Los Angeles California Rev. Dr. Ogechukwu has served in different leadership capacities in Christian ministries in Nigeria and in the U.S. He served as Prayer Coordinator Scripture Union Fellowship (1990-1991); Sunday School Superintendent at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church (1992-1994); President of Scripture Union Fellowship (Non-Denominational Christian Group) 1992-1994; Mission Outreach Coordinator Christian Union Fellowship University of Calabar 1998-1999; President of Christian Union University of Calabar 1999-2000 and President of Joint Christian Campus Fellowship University of Calabar 2000-2001. Dr. Ogechukwu was licensed into the word and ministry in the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria in 2003 and became the resident pastor at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Ugep Urban Parish Nigeria in 2003. In 2004, Rev. Dr. Ogechukwu was the Associate pastor Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Yaba Parish Lagos, Nigeria. In 2007, Dr Ogechukwu became the Associate Resident Pastor at Presbyterian Church of Nigeria Apapa Parish Lagos Nigeria. In 2011, Rev. Dr. Ogechukwu was Presiding Pastor at English Ministry Church, Revival Presbyterian Church of Los Angeles; a position he held until 2015 Rev. Dr. Ogechukwu Ibem was called by the Presbyterian Church, Chapel of Grace to be the Senior Pastor on July 1, 2016. He is married to Vivian Ogechukwu Kalu (Attorney at Nigerian and California Bar). Vivian serves in the children ministry of Chapel of Grace. The family is blessed with three children; Faithful Ogechukwu Kalu; Divine Ogechukwu Kalu and Livingstone Ogechukwu Kalu.
